Welcome to the City Students' Union Committee Resource Hub. Full of handy information to run your Student Group - take a read of the information below and then click on the boxes at the bottom to head to each section.

The Union supports students to run Student Groups, such as Societies, Student Media and Raising and Giving (RAG). The Resource Hub includes all the essentials you need to successfully run your student group, as well as giving some extra tips and opportunities available throughout the year. You can also download all the information you need from the Student Groups Handbook.

Being a student group committee member or a student group member is a great way to meet new people, build new communities and gain skills that employers love. From teamwork to events planning to managing budgets, the skills you gain from your time on a Student Group committee will help you massively when it comes to applying for jobs.

  • Runs society training and oversees Society events
  • Manages external speaker requests
  • Facilitate with set up and adoption of societies
  • Runs and manages elections/bye-elections

  • Advise on running of Society events
  • Point of contact to collaborate with Union events

Virginia Brown- Student Communities Administrator

  • Processes student enquiries
  • Runs the Students' Union reception desk
  • Ensures records about socities is regularly kept up to date
